I was shattered.
Lying under a
focussed stream of
nature's cruellest element.
At the cessation of the deluge,
I stepped back to familiar sands.
And the droplets began to fall.
First from my leftmost ear
fell a squalid living curse.
It wrought sorrow in the eyes of many
before smiting the hapless passersby.
The ants rose not again.
Then from a lock proclaiming victory
from its perch atop my crest,
there came a crystalline orb,
so devilish in its purity that it
destroyed the salinity of its
recipient puddle,
forever rupturing the politics of that nation.
The third, tumbling from the tip of my one eyelash,
amplified the sun such that I was blinded.
And as I emerged from the waterfall,
I perceived myself as a raindrop.
The sea awaits below.
